THE AUTHENTIC ON-FIELD BALLCAP OF THE 1958 CINCINNATI REDLEGS History: Between 1953 and 1963, during what came to be known as the “Decade of Change” in baseball, six teams moved to new cities and four brand new ballclubs joined the majors. Cincinnati played their last season as the “Redlegs” in 1958 — a name they adopted in ‘53 as anti-communist sentiment rose to a fever-pitch around the US. The logo didn’t change much, though, as their classic ‘wishbone C’ had been a part of their uniform since 1905.
