MATiAS pieces fall somewhere between avant-garde and vintage workwear, into the realm of "post-heritage" - where the techniques and materials of the past intersect with new ideas and original styles. Designed and manufactured in-house at their LA workshop, MATiAS produce some of the best fits we've experienced, with subtle and sometimes unusual tailoring details, employed deliberately to perfect drape, enhance comfort, & compliment their remarkable fabric choices. The Romero II is MATiAS' signature unisex trouser, with an easy pant/jogger waistband and handsomely tapered legs. Tailored with a slim carrot shape, they maintain a narrow silhouette without being snug or tight, and feature an unfinished hem for easily tailoring to the perfect length. The waistband is elasticated, but also includes a thick woven drawstring for even more flexibility in sizing and ease of fit. It's made from a beautiful lightweight Italian oxford fabric, woven from a blend of cotton and hemp yarns, it's got a relaxed drape and breathable face. Weighing in at a cool 6.5oz, the 53% cotton / 47% hemp blend gives you the best of both fibres - staying soft and comfortable thanks to the cotton, while breathing a little easier thanks to the hemp content.
